About Me

Prior to becoming a physician, I received extensive training in anti-oppression/social justice education, intergroup facilitation/dialogue and conflict resolution. To date, I have been invited to share this training in a wide range of settings including: inpatient departments, outpatient clinics, medical school executive committees, community health centers, and hospital board rooms. My work has received national accolades, and a full CV is available upon request.

I also bring with me unique perspectives as my current role is a rare blend of clinical affairs and operational affairs. This experience along with an anti-oppression framework allows me to bring valuable insights and supportive tools to navigate hurdles and barriers that organizations may be experiencing.

My passion for creating clinical environments that identify, acknowledge and work tirelessly to address power dynamics and disparities is infectious. It would be my honor to help your organization incorporate these perspectives into their work. Some of the areas I am more frequently asked to provide consultation include the following:

  • Leadership and team member training and development
  • Navigating and supporting diverse and complex inter-organizational dynamics
  • Review of organizational policies/procedures (HR, safety, clinical, operational, etc.)
  • Quality Assurance programming development, review and analysis
  • Medical record reviews

Next Steps, Availability and Rates:

I am currently scheduling initial sessions within 2-3 weeks. My consultation process begins with a brief complimentary session with key organizational stakeholders to better understand the concerns of the organization and to more thoroughly introduce myself. I would then provide my recommended plan and estimated costs for assessment and support. Rates are negotiable and dependent on many factors including: non-profit status, mission, project longevity, location (remote vs in-person), etc. I do not allow financial constraints to limit an organization’s ability to work with me and am committed to remaining flexible with mission aligned organizations. Historically, average rates have been approximately $125/hour.

**I define oppression as unjust systems, structures and interpersonal interactions that fuel differences in opportunity and treatment based on one’s membership in a social group. Examples include, but are not limited to, racism, sexism, heterosexism, and ableism.
