PRN Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery / Procedural Care

PRN | $42/hour
Gynemed Surgical Center is seeking experienced, compassionate Registered Nurses to join our growing PRN nursing team.
We provide outpatient sexual and reproductive health care in a busy ambulatory surgical setting. We are looking for nurses who are clinically strong, dependable, comfortable with procedural care, and able to remain calm, organized, and effective in a fast-paced clinical environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN seeking flexible PRN work while becoming part of a consistent, collaborative clinical team.
Responsibilities
• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care
• Start and manage peripheral IVs
• Administer medications according to physician orders and established protocols
• Administer moderate sedation
• Monitor patients receiving moderate sedation
• Assess patients throughout recovery and prepare patients for safe discharge
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Assist with urgent and emergency clinical situations
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support efficient patient flow throughout busy procedural days
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the clinical team
• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed, nonjudgmental care to patients receiving abortion and other reproductive health services
Qualifications
• Current Maryland Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Strong IV skills
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced procedural environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care needs while remaining calm and organized
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team
• Commitment to providing respectful, nonjudgmental reproductive health care
Experience in ambulatory surgery, PACU, emergency medicine, critical care, procedural nursing, moderate sedation, or women’s health is preferred.
Previous abortion-care experience is not required. Experienced nurses who are interested in reproductive health care and willing to learn our clinical workflows are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
This is a PRN position. Clinical care is currently provided Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
PRN shifts are available on those clinic days, and nurses do not need to be available every week. We are especially interested in RNs who can offer recurring availability on one or more clinic days each month, including occasional Saturday coverage.
Our goal is to build a dependable PRN nursing bench whose members work with us regularly enough to become familiar with our team, patients, clinical protocols, emergency procedures, and procedural workflow.
